Chief Procurement Officer (CPO)
Pathway Consulting is seeking a highly experienced Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) to lead the procurement operations for a multinational company with operations across Mozambique, South Africa and Europe. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing robust procurement strategies that support and expand our supermarket business, supply to large industries, wholesale, retail, and FMCG products.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with corporate objectives and support the company’s growth and operational efficiency;
- Manage and lead a substantial procurement department, ensuring effective operations across multiple locations, including Mozambique, South Africa, and Portugal;
- Negotiate and administer contracts with international suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with global quality standards;
- Implement advanced risk management practices to mitigate threats in the supply chain and enhance its resilience;
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance standards, including food safety, health, and occupational safety;
- Conduct continuous analysis of the value chain and strategic portfolio health to identify and implement improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Economics, or related fields;
Minimum of 15 years of procurement experience, with experience in different companies and more than one industry;
Proven experience in senior leadership roles as a Procurement Director or CPO, in multinational corporations;
Professional certification in Purchasing and Supply (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, CSCP) is preferred.
- Requiring bilingual proficiency in Portuguese and English.
