JOB OPPORTUNITY 

FINANCIAL DIRECTOR (M/F) 

MozParks develops and operates Industrial Parks, Industrial Free Trade Zones and  Special Economic Zones nationwide, with its head office in Maputo – Triunfo, respon sible for the day-to-day operations of the Parks, is seeking to recruit a talented and  self-motivated Financial Director to join its staff, to manage financial affairs, develop  

financial strategy and support the business on its day-to-day operations and expansion, aligned with its goals and objectives. 

MozParks currently manages a network of parks across Mozambique and is in a  phase of national and international expansion, working with the African Sustainable  Economic Zone Alliance (ASEZA). 

The Financial Director will be reporting to the Board and Senior Management Team,  the Director of Finance will be responsible for formulation and implementation of  MozPark’s financial strategies, management of the finance department, production  of financial accounts and reports, liaison with financial partners and stakeholders,  and ensuring compliance across all relevant areas. 

This role will also lead fundraising efforts, including cultivating relationships with  funders, developing business plans, and creating financial forecasts, as well as over seeing budgeting, accounts consolidation, and liaising with external auditors to  ensure accurate financial reporting.

The Financial Director must be an individual with proven experience and will be expected to ensure compliance with local and international regulations and promote  sustainable business growth. In addition to being a results-oriented individual, you  must have a strong sense of leadership and the ability to work under pressure.

CORPORATE STRATEGY 

  • Custodian of Corporate Governance; 
  • Ensures that financial health of the business is sound and caters for the future needs of the  business; 
  • Formulates and executes required funding of the business; 
  • Oversees and ensures implementation and maintenance of all information systems;
  • Recommends appropriate course of action to ensure that the company achieves targeted  profitability. 

FINANCE STRATEGY 

  • Is responsible for developing a financial strategy aligned to the company strategy Funding/ financing of business; 
  • Debtor collection and management; 
  • Treasury/Cash management activities; 
  • Lead fundraising efforts, including cultivating relationships with funders, developing business  plans, and creating financial forecasts; 
  • Timely production of consolidated financial reports and accounts; 
  • Compliance with all statutory regulations; 
  • Maintains relationships with the Company’s debt providers, investors and other key stakeholders, communicating the financial state of the enterprise and being available to  answer financially oriented questions. 

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL 

  • Develops and monitors financial policies and procedures within generally accepted accounting principles and corporate guidelines; 
  • Management of the Finance Department; 
  • Oversee budgeting, consolidate accounts, and liaise with external auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations.
  • Manages all operations relating to financial management and reporting of the Company;
  • Oversees the financial reporting process enabling efficient and timely production of monthly  and annual; 
  • Oversees and coordinates requirements of external audit;

JOB OPPORTUNITY 

  • Monitors current assets such as accounts receivables, banks and cash in line with planned  working capital guidelines; 
  • Evaluate capital expenditure, discussing major expenditures with appropriate executive and  advising Board personnel; 
  • Ensure compliance with legislation in all areas of taxation and ensuring tax efficiency for the  Company; 
  • Provide reports and recommendations to the Board regarding the Company’s financial stability and viability. 

SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. An MBA or other postgraduate degree will be considered an advantage; 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a finance role, with at least 5 years in a leadership position as a CFO; 
  • Proven experience in strategic financial planning, budget management, and financial reporting; 
  • Strong experience with investment and commercial finance; 
  • Excellent analytical and decision making abilities; 
  • Experience with international reporting and compliance; 
  • Strong skills in data management and supporting IT tools; 
  • Strong leadership skills, with effective interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines; 
  • Ability to multi-task; 
  • Strong negotiating skills; 
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English.
