Operations Manager Opportunity in Maputo with Servtec/SBM
We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our team in Maputo. This role is critical for overseeing and coordinating daily operations to ensure efficiency and the achievement of operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations to ensure efficiency and goal achievement.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational efficiency and meet business objectives.
- Recruit, train, and supervise the operational team to ensure high performance and a collaborative work environment.
- Ensure product and service quality by implementing operational standards and quality control procedures.
- Effectively manage resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to optimize costs and maximize productivity.
- Identify opportunities for operational process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and external partners to ensure timely delivery and quality of supplies and services.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards to create a safe and healthy work environment.
- Prepare periodic reports on operational performance and conduct analyses to identify areas for improvement and growth opportunities.
Requirements:
- Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, International Trade, Naval Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in maritime or logistics sectors.
- Proven experience in maritime agency and ship handling, including interactions with ports and port authorities.
- Experience in cross-country and cross-border logistics, with knowledge of international regulations and cross-border transportation processes.
- Familiarity with operations management principles, quality control, production planning, and inventory management.
- Strong leadership skills, decision-making ability, and effective problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Results-oriented, with a focus on achieving operational and business goals.
- Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Proficiency in operations management software and data analysis tools is an advantage.
- Fluency in English is required.
